Launch of Jakarta-Bali Medical Tourism Campaign 2024-2026
DENPASAR, NusaBali.com – Jakarta has proven itself as a ready destination to become Indonesia’s center for medical tourism. Strategically, Jakarta collaborates with Bali, the most popular island in Indonesia, to highlight Bali as the country’s main Medical Tourism Destination.
This initiative is spearheaded by the Indonesia Health Tourism Promotion Board (IHTPB), the World Tourism Network (WTN) Indonesia Chapter, and the Indonesian Medical Tourism Association (Asosiasi Wisata Medis Indonesia - AWMI), with key stakeholders from the industry.
The goal is to announce this significant milestone as the cornerstone of a global campaign to promote Indonesia’s medical and wellness tourism industry. We are honored to host a two-day panel discussion at this prestigious event.
As the founder and chairperson of AWMI and IHTPB, together with the WTN Indonesia Chapter, we are driving this strategic collaboration to position Indonesia’s medical and health tourism as the top choice for Indonesians while establishing a strategic roadmap to make it a preferred destination in the international market.
"I hereby open this two-day panel discussion with the main topics focused on policies supporting Jakarta and Bali as Medical and Health Tourism Destinations, as well as building a roadmap with AI 5.0 to support Quality Tourism, starting with the Medical and Health Tourism sector. On the first day, we will discuss the concepts, policies, and resources available to build this mission, while on the second day, we will focus on Public-Private Partnership initiatives to implement the goals of this mission," said Mudi Astuti, Chair of WTN Indonesia.
She added, "Finally, I would like to invite more stakeholders to join this public-private partnership initiative and 'do what has been said,' as this initiative has been years in the making. Together with AWMI & IHTPB, and other stakeholders, we must take concrete actions. Not only with AI 5.0, but this initiative will enable us to implement and create strategic partnerships among inclusive stakeholders as part of a think-tank resource."
Dr. Taufik Jamaan, Chairman of AWMI and Co-Chair of IHTPB also expressed his gratitude, saying, "I would like to thank you all for your participation and support. With this, I officially open the launch of the public-private partnership initiative for the Jakarta-Bali Medical and Health Tourism campaign for 2024-2026. I am excited to meet and discuss this initiative and mission, and I hope the collaboration between IHTPB-AWMI-WTN Indonesia Chapter, the central and regional governments, and the private sector at both macro and micro levels will be more than just inspiring. Together, we can lay the foundation for various activities throughout the 2024-2026 Campaign."
He concluded, "This will enable Indonesian Medical and Health Tourism to play a leading role in our global structure."
