6. The Means which Needed for Melukat
If you had never went to Sebatu and planned to go there, then here are the tools that need to be prepared for melukat.
a. Daksina, especially for those who were the first to melukat. It could be sold at the market for IDR 40,000 or vary. If not, you could also buy in stalls near the location of Pasiraman for IDR 50,000.
b. Pejati consisted of banana and lotus in free color.
c. Using kewangen with jempiring flower, blue lotus, and 11 Balinese coins. You could also buy at the stalls near by the temple for IDR 3,000 per piece (it was included Balinese coins).
d. Also prepared canang sari for 10 items (along with cookies / candies / snacks / clove cigarettes), incense sticks and lighter.
e. Costums that were suitable for melukat were Balinese traditional costum or madya custom (T-shirt, cloth and scarves). For men, only used cloth to melukat and not to use jewelry for men and women when melukat.
7. Procedure for Melukat
When all the necessaries had been fulfilled for melukat, it was incomplete if you did not know how to melukat. The following were the correct procedures for melukat so that you were not mistaken when you were at the location.
a. Arranging canang in the first pelinggih (temple) which was a bit far from Pasiraman. There were 3 pieces of shower that you could use to wash your face before continued the next step.
b. Returning to deliver canang on pelinggih in the form of statues that would welcome your arrival at each end of the stairs. There would be 230 stairs that you would climb along the way to the Pasiraman.
c. Performing prayers on the pelinggih Pura Dalem Pingit and Pura Kusti which were located a bit above from the place of pesiraman by offering pejati and kewangen. The prayer was carried out independently except on holy days, it would be guided by priest.
d. After praying, do not throw the kewangen away because it would be used for melukat.
e. Entering the melukat area, do not forget to deliver canang sari at the sanggah located beside the waterfall. Then, continued with the penglukatan in a way, put kewangen in front of the forehead or crown like when we prayed. The body faced the water and flushed from the head and crown.
f. After the head was wet, released kewangen to drift with water. After that, the body might turn around and be free to focus on areas that want to be washed away.
g. After completing melukat, visitors prayed once again at the pelinggih near Pesiraman, and ended up with asking for tirta (holy water) and bija (holy rice).
